It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. It was time for us to move onto the next step of our adventure and bid adieu to the Bean. We had our first meal of the day (about 11am) at OYSY Japanese restaurant... Which was easily the worst meal I've had in the US (Although the sweaty Philly cheese steak in NY was nothing to be proud of either). Casey had warned me of the average sushi in the US but I wasn't prepared for this. Perhaps it was just the mysterious unnamed side salads or the fact the sushi itself was too cold for my liking. Either way, I forced down what I could and then we marched back toward the Bean to say our final goodbyes (until next time).
The sky was drizzling and so we thought hitting the shops was probably our best chance of avoiding pneumonia. The Macy's store was 10 storeys high, although after we got separated and lost on the second floor, we decided to call it a day! We returned back to the streets and stumbled across The Wit, which Casey had been told had a sky lounge, so we headed up there to get some more city shots. And a cheeky cocktail. http://www.roofonthewit.com/
We walked back through Greek town to get some dinner. Although it seemed a bit industrial in areas, we never once felt unsafe. This was hugely different to New York where I was always very aware of my surroundings and who was where at all times. In Chicago I felt like I could relax and enjoy the city for what it was.
We found a great Greek restaurant and proceeded to eat until our pants were fit to burst. Although Casey's selection plate looks a bit terrifying he assured me he enjoyed it. My spinach pie was delicious but ridiculously massive and I struggled to get through half of it.
